After narrowly losing in the final seconds two weeks ago, the Foothill High football team hit the practice field during its bye week to fix the mistakes.

The end result was a victory Thursday at Del Sol, with the Falcons leading by 32 points at the beginning of the fourth quarter and holding on for a 44-38 win.

Two weeks ago, they lost by three points to Green Valley.

“We made a lot of mistakes in the Green Valley game. It was just a lot of little mistakes,” Foothill coach Marty Redmond said. “We didn’t prepare for Del Sol as much as we worked on ourselves.”

Sophomore Drew Doxtator passed for more than 300 yards and five touchdowns to lead Foothill (5-1, 2-1 Southeast). Kyle Keplinger had three touchdowns — two receiving and one rushing — and 10 catches for more than 100 yards.

Also, Tyren Bokin and Brandon Wiltz had rushing touchdowns, and Tyler Morris had a receiving touchdown.
