Sandoval names new employment director

CARSON CITY – Frank Woodbeck, who works for the Commission on Economic Development in Las Vegas, has been named director of the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation by Gov. Brian Sandoval.

Woodbeck will succeed Larry Mosley, who resigned in June. Dennis Perea has been acting director.

Woodbeck is the director of Las Vegas Operations and Workforce Initiatives of the Economic Development Commission. His job has been to create employment and training opportunities for new and emerging companies in Nevada.

He formerly worked in the department as a consultant on workforce initiatives. He will take over his new job Oct. 3 and will be paid $124,528.
