Two women critically injured in a Thursday morning shooting that also killed two men at a North Las Vegas four-plex are improving, North Las Vegas Police said.
The women were taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after the shooting, which happened shortly before 6 a.m.
Sgt. Tim Bedwell said a report of shots fired led officers to the single-story building at 2029 Webster St., near Civic Center Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard.
Inside, they found the victims, Bedwell said. The two men were pronounced dead at the scene.
It doesn’t appear any of the victims was the shooter, Bedwell said.
Police are looking for witnesses who may be able to provide more information about the suspect or suspects, who apparently fled before officers arrived, Bedwell said.
“We know that there is one, possibly two, people involved at least,” he said.
Investigators do not believe the shooting was domestic-related, but police have not released other possible motives, Bedwell said. Police had not been called to the residence in the past couple months, he said.
Police could not confirm whether the victims were related. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release their identities, pending notification of relatives.
The deaths mark the fourth and fifth homicides in North Las Vegas this year, Bedwell said. Last year, there were 10 homicides in the city.
