Henderson will make a debut on primetime cable television this week.
The city’s annual car show Super Run Classic Car Show will be featured on a new episode of History Channel’s hit series “American Restoration” Wednesday at 10 p.m.
The show’s star Rick Dale, an antique restoration expert, and his son Tyler and brother Rick visit Henderson’s 2011 Super Run Classic Car Show on Wednesday night’s episode.
Filmed in Las Vegas, “American Restoration” is based on Rick’s Restorations, where Rick and his crew take rusty, antique items and restore them to original condition.
Super Run, a partnership with Henderson and the Las Vegas Crusin’ Association, is a four-day show that displays more than 1,000 hot rods in the Henderson Water Street District.
Henderson’s cultural arts and tourism spokeswoman Nicole Johnson said the show filmed for one day during last year’s car event.
“They interviewed spectators and showcased the cars on Water Street,” Johnson said. “We’re really excited to be featured on the show.”
This year’s Super Run will be Sept. 20-23 at the Henderson Events Plaza at 200 S. Water Street.
