Hiker dies from fall at Red Rock Canyon

Metro Police say that a hiker who fell 20 to 30 feet today at Red Rock Canyon is dead.

The man, believed to be 21, was hiking with a friend in the Calico Basin when he fell at about 3:20 p.m., police said.

Search and rescue crews located him and were to transport him by helicopter to a hospital, police said.
