A fire at a guest house in the western valley Thursday afternoon caused $40,000 damage, but no one was injured, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials said.
Firefighters responded at 1:42 p.m. to the blaze at 2001 S. Cimarron Road, near Oakey Boulevard.
Fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said the single-story guest house was about 20 feet behind a large house. No one was home at either residence, he said.
The fire damaged the guest home’s living room and roof, Szymanski said.
Fire investigators have not determined a cause. They are waiting to speak with the residents for more information, Szymanski said.
