Woman, 85, critically injured in crash after running red light, police say

An 85-year-old woman is in critical condition Wednesday night after she ran a red light and crashed into another car, according to Metro Police.

Beverly Klausner of Las Vegas was driving a 1999 Honda CRV southbound on McLeod Drive around 6 p.m. when she ran a red light and struck a 2012 VW Jetta traveling east on Flamingo Road, police

Klausner and the driver of the Jetta, 31-year-old Clifford Zagala, were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

Zagala sustained minor injuries in the collision, police said.

The collision remains under investigation by the Metro’s accident investigation section.
