Several neighborhoods in North Las Vegas will see day-long road closures Wednesday for an Independence Day celebration.
The road closures will begin at 10 a.m., but drivers will still be able to access the roads affected until around 3 p.m., North Las Vegas city spokeswoman Juliette Casey said. Most of the closures are to allow for street parking and pedestrian safety, as the event — which will be held at James Seastrand Park from 6-9:30 p.m. — regularly attracts upwards of 20,000 people, she said.
The following roads will be closed until midnight:
• Azure Avenue from Revere Street to Kitamaya Street
• Black Oaks Street from Centennial Parkway, stretching a block south and north
• Centennial Parkway from Camino Eldorado to Revere Street
• Choctaw Avenue from Revere Street extending a block west
• Cloud Dance Court from Camino Eldorado to Shadow Oak Drive
• Cornerstone Place from Revere Street extending a block west
• Deer Foot Circle from Camino Eldorado to Shadow Oak Drive
• Dry Valley Avenue from Revere Street extending a block east
• Little Mountain Street from Centennial Parkway extending a block south
• Revere Street from Tropical Parkway to Centennial Parkway
• Shipwrecked Way from Revere Street extending a block east
• Singing Bird Lane from Camino Eldorado to Shadow Oak Drive
• Snow Cactus Street from Centennial Parkway extending a block south
Alternative routes advised include Lonejack Lane and Tropical Parkway, or Choctaw Avenue and Revere Street.
