70 gather in Las Vegas for ‘Justice for Trayvon’ march

About 70 people gathered for a "Justice for Trayvon" march on the Las Vegas Strip following George Zimmerman's Florida acquittal in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

The group gathered Tuesday night outside the Brass Lounge on Fremont Street and planned to march toward the New York New York hotel and casino.

A Facebook page for the protest described it as a family gathering and told participants to "wear your hoodies."

Zimmerman was acquitted over the weekend of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges in Martin's 2012 death in Sanford, Fla.

The acquittal has inspired "Justice For Trayvon" protests across the country. Most have been peaceful, although vandalism and violence have occurred in Los Angeles.

The Rev. Al Sharpton announced Tuesday he'll lead a national "Justice for Trayvon" day in 100 cities this weekend to press for federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman.
