A Clark County grand jury on Wednesday handed up an indictment against the two men accused of killing 15-year-old Bonanza High School student Marcos Arenas in May during the theft of his iPad.

The indictment charges Jacob Dismont, 18, and Michael Solid, 21, with single counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and murder with use of a deadly weapon.

An arraignment hearing for the duo is scheduled for June 13 in Clark County District Court, said Tess Driver, a spokeswoman for the Clark County District Attorney’s Office.

According to police reports, the two spotted Arenas on May 16 at a gas station on Charleston Boulevard, then stalked him for several minutes before attempting to steal his iPad as he walked near Charleston Boulevard and Scholl Drive. Dismont struggled with Arenas over the iPad and then got into a passenger seat of a sport-utility vehicle driven by Solid, according to the Metro arrest report. As the vehicle pulled away, the back tire ran over Arenas, who later died from his injuries at University Medical Center, police said.

The grand jury heard testimony from 10 witnesses, according to the indictment.

Dismont and Solid remain in the Clark County Detention Center without bail, Driver said.
