A Las Vegas man accused of killing his son will have a preliminary hearing Tuesday after the child suffered injuries that, according to a Metro Police arrest report, didn’t match his father’s explanation of how they occurred.

Jonathan Quisano has been charged with felony murder by child abuse in the death of his son Khayden, who died Friday morning at University Medical Center. Quisano was being held without bail in the Clark County Detention Center.

According to the arrest report, Clark County Fire Department responders transported the child, who was suffering from cardiac arrest, to the hospital Thursday and notified Metro Police because the child’s injuries did not match Quisano’s explanation that his son had fallen off a couch.

The child suffered several skull fractures and injuries to the lungs and spleen, injuries that doctors said were not survivable, according to the arrest report.

Metro Police detectives conducted an interview with Quisano, who said his son had fallen from the back of a couch, the report said.

Authorities initially responded Thursday to a 911 call at Quisano’s home in the 4000 block of Trimwater Court, near Lone Mountain Road and Torrey Pines Drive.

Quisano will have a preliminary hearing at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
