A bicyclist killed Wednesday morning by a passing dump truck several miles north of Jean has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Peter Makowski, 33, of Las Vegas.
Makowski was cycling southbound about 8:15 a.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard when he was struck by a trailer being pulled by a passing dump truck, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said. Makowski was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wednesday marked the second fatality in two months on that stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard from Jean to Las Vegas.
Real estate agent Michael Sando, 50, was killed when he lost control of a motorcycle and crashed in May.
