51s offense carries them to 2nd straight victory in Omaha

Andrew Brown drove in four runs and scored three of his own to help the Las Vegas 51s run away with a second straight victory in Omaha, Neb.

The right fielder went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a triple, one of three triples the 51s hit in a 9-4 victory against the Omaha Storm Chasers.

The 51s scored two in the first inning before taking a 5-3 lead in the third. From there they added some insurance runs that proved more than enough against an Omaha squad that managed only six hits and committed two errors.

Las Vegas starter Carlos Torres allowed all four earned runs but got out with his second victory of the season thanks to the offense, which also featured three RBI from third baseman Zach Lutz.

The victory gives the 51s a 2-1 lead in the four-game series, which concludes Sunday at 12:05 p.m. Las Vegas time at Werner Park. They don’t return to Las Vegas until Friday, May 24, against the Salt Lake Bees.
