The Senate has approved a bill that would put greater restrictions on licensing small slot arcades in Clark and Washoe counties.

The bill, aimed primarily at Dotty's slot parlors, was passed 18-3 and goes to the Assembly.

The measure says that in the future those venues that want a restricted license for 15 or fewer slots must have a permanent physical bar and a restaurant and be at least 2,500 square feet.

There must be tables and booths in the restaurant with seating for at least 25 people and the kitchen must be open for at least 12 hours.

And those locations with restricted licenses will be barred from operating a race book or a sports pool.

Those voting against the bill were Republicans Barbara Cegavske of Las Vegas, Joseph Hardy of Boulder City and Don Gustavson of Sparks.
