Metro plans DUI checkpoint in eastern valley to kick off holiday weekend

Metro Police will hold a DUI checkpoint on Friday in an attempt to cut down on intoxicated drivers during the Memorial Day weekend.

The checkpoint is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., and will be located on East Vegas Valley Drive and Marion Street on the east side of the valley.

Funding for the checkpoint comes from the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws grant program.
