Reader tips help police apprehend ATM robbery suspect

Second man suspected in early May crime identified but still being sought

One of the men suspected in an ATM robbery in early May was arrested Monday night only hours after police enlisted the public’s help in finding the culprits.

Nestor Rodriguez, 26, was charged with one count of robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and had bail set at $40,000. Police said viewer tips after the publication of a media release on Monday helped identify Rodriguez and that detectives have identified the second suspect and are currently attempting to locate him.

Rodriguez and the second suspect are accused of robbing a 45-year-old woman who was withdrawing money from a drive-thru ATM in the 2400 block of Rancho Drive the evening of May 5, police said.
