A suspect wanted in connection with a weekend stabbing has barricaded himself in a northeast valley apartment, Metro Police said.
The SWAT unit is waiting for completion of a search warrant before possibly entering the unit in the Sun Garden Apartments, near Pecos Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, said Lt. Mark Reddon.
The suspect who barricaded himself allegedly stabbed a man in the neck Saturday during a fight, Reddon said. The victim suffered serious injuries.
Officers investigating the crime determined the suspect, who has not been identified, might be staying at the Sun Garden Apartments, Reddon said. When they knocked on a door Tuesday evening, the suspect answered and then slammed the door, he said.
Detectives from Metro’s gang unit are also investigating.
