A worker at the Mirage died Wednesday after he fell while trimming trees.
Clark County Coroner’s Office officials identified him as Arturo Mendez, 31, of Las Vegas. Mendez worked for the hotel’s Horticulture Department, MGM International Resorts officials said.
“We are mourning the loss of our colleague at The Mirage who was injured while on duty in the Horticultural Department trimming trees Wednesday morning and later passed away at the hospital,” Clark Dumont, senior vice president of MGM Resorts International, said in a statement. “We are keeping his family in our thoughts as they go through this difficult time.”
No further details about the incident were made available.
Officials at the Mirage were working with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the investigation of the incident.
