What to expect at the pump as the year draws to a close

Gas prices continue to tick downward in Nevada, dropping 13 cents in the past month to a state average of $3.35 per gallon.

A light hurricane season, less demand by consumers and a fuel conversion to a winter blend have caused to prices to drop, a trend that is expected to continue until the end of the year, said Cynthia Harris, spokeswoman for AAA Northern California.

Las Vegas and North Las Vegas have benefited the most from the cheaper prices, with the lowest average price in the state at $3.26 per gallon; the average price in Henderson is $3.28. Meanwhile, the national gas price average is $3.18.
