MILLBORO, Va. — A hospital spokeswoman says the condition of a Virginia state senator who was apparently stabbed by his son has improved to good.
Mary Kay Campbell of the University of Virginia Medical Center said Wednesday that Sen. Creigh (kree) Deeds' condition had improved from fair.
Police say Deeds was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday morning after being stabbed multiple times. His 24-year-old son, Gus, died at the residence from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
State Police said an autopsy was planned Wednesday.
The American Hospital Association defines a patient in good condition as having stable vital signs and being conscious and comfortable.
