Director of Nevada State Medical Association retiring

CARSON CITY — Larry Matheis, who has been executive director of the Nevada State Medical Association for 25 years, is retiring.

The association, which represents doctors before the Legislature and state agencies, announced Thursday that Matheis would be replaced by Stacy Woodbury, who has held a number of jobs in state government.

Most recently, she was legislative affairs director of the Gresh Group, a Las Vegas-based lobbying company.

The association has a membership of more than 2,000 doctors and medical students.
