MINDEN — An autopsy found no obvious cause for the death of former San Francisco socialite Amber Bently and foul play has been ruled out.
Douglas County Undersheriff Paul Howell says there was no evidence of trauma and toxicology tests revealed no toxins or narcotics that would cause an overdose.
The body of the 34-year-old Bently was found in her Gardnerville apartment July 19 by a process server who went to deliver an eviction notice. Officials said she had been dead for several weeks.
Amber Bently was estranged from her husband, Minden businessman Christopher Bently.
Christopher Bently heads several companies founded by his late father, Donald Bently, a prominent engineer, philanthropist and businessman in 2012 at the age of 87.
Before their separation the couple were active in San Francisco's social scene and enthusiasts of the annual Burning Man festival, held annually around Labor Day on Nevada's Black Rock Desert north of Reno. About four years ago, the couple was featured as the "new kids on the block" on the San Francisco Social Diary website when they threw a pajama party at their posh Nob Hill penthouse.
