Elderly woman dies after crash in parking lot

A 68-year-old woman died Monday night after the Hyundai she was driving crashed into a chain-link fence in a parking lot.

Metro Police responded about 9:40 p.m. to the crash at 2875 S. Nellis Boulevard, near Vegas Valley Drive. The woman was driving slowly when she drifted into the fence, police said. She was transported to Desert Springs Hospital, where she died.

Metro is investigating the accident.
