The Las Vegas City Council will vote today on a proposed $200 million stadium for Major League Soccer.
That may seem like a historic vote for a city with major league ambitions. But in reality, today's vote is just another chapter in a 20-year story that's featured a Texas developer, a Wall Street bank, bankruptcy and more than a decade of Goodmans.

Today's Major League Soccer vote
The Las Vegas City Council will consider a $200 million stadium proposal today at its 9 a.m. hearing. If four of the seven council members vote for it, the stadium plan will survive until December, when the council reviews more project details. A no vote today means the project is likely dead.
