Authorities have identified two women who died after the car they were riding in crashed while they followed relatives on a Las Vegas highway.
Nevada Highway Patrol troopers say a Toyota Camry that was following a Mercedes hit the back of the vehicle about 7 p.m. Saturday on the 215 beltway. The Mercedes stopped in the shoulder after the impact, but the Camry continued onto an off-ramp, across traffic on Decatur Boulevard and into a block wall.
Troopers say the Camry vaulted into the air and then partially caught on fire.
Twenty-one-year-old passenger Miriah Ashley Weaver of Black Creek, Wisconsin died at the scene, while 58-year-old passenger Patricia Tucker of Las Vegas died of her injuries at University Medical Center.
The 25-year-old male driver from Wisconsin was hospitalized.
