A motorcyclist and a 7-year-old girl sustained critical injuries after a traffic collision in the southwest part of the valley Saturday.
Also according to Metro Police:
At 4:39 p.m., a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling north on Buffalo Drive in the left turn lane to westbound Badura Avenue. A 2004 Honda CBR600 motorcycle was traveling south on Buffalo Drive in the left lane, north of Badura Avenue.
The Jeep began turning left in front of the motorcycle as it approached Badura Avenue, causing the motorcycle to strike the right side of the Jeep.
The 29-year-old motorcyclist entered the right rear passenger window of the Jeep and hit the 7-year-old girl sitting in the backseat.
The motorcyclist and the girl were taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries, and the driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.
The collision remains under investigation.
