Woman suspected of killing husband at downtown Las Vegas hotel ID’d

A woman who allegedly shot and killed her husband during a Christmas Eve argument in a downtown Las Vegas casino/hotel has been identified as Maria Escalante, 34.

According to Metro Police:

Officers were dispatched to the hotel on South Main Street about 10:15 p.m. and found the man, who'd been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Escalante was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faces one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

This is the 132nd homicide investigated by Metro Police in 2015. The identity of the man, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
