Updated Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 | 2:42 p.m.

One person was killed in a shooting in the southeast valley Friday afternoon, Metro Police said.

Officers received a report about 4:50 p.m. of the shooting in a courtyard area in the 5700 block of Missouri Avenue, near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue, Lt. Yaz Yatomi said.

Officers found a man on a walkway in front of an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds, Metro said Saturday in a press release. The man, whose age is unknown, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died.

Investigators determined that the man was in his residence with family members when he answered a knock at the door. He stepped outside, and gunshots were heard.

Police said the shooting might have been related to a previous argument between the victim and an unknown person.

No suspects have been identified, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Metro's Homicide Division at 702-828-3521 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com.
