Although skies have been sunny Sunday, valley residents shouldn't put away their umbrellas just yet.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of showers in the mountains and a 40 percent chance of rainfall in the valley Sunday.
There is a flash flood watch in effect through 11 p.m. Monday, meteorologist Reid Wolcott said.
Sunday afternoon brought temperatures of 87-92 degrees on the west side of the valley and 90-95 degrees on the east side of the valley, the NWS said.
Partly sunny skies are forecast for Monday afternoon, although there is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms, according to the NWS.
Highs are expected to be between 82-97 degrees on the west side of the valley and 92-97 degrees on the east side of the valley.
Lows are expected to be between 70-75 degrees on the west side of the valley and 74-79 degrees on east side of the valley.
