An Oklahoma police officer was arrested in Las Vegas this morning in connection with the abduction of a 15-year-old girl in California, according to police in Turlock, Calif.

Danniel Boone Morgan II, an officer with the Kiowa Police Department in Oklahoma, was arrested about 8 a.m. at Treasure Island on a fugitive warrant, according to Metro Police and the Turlock Police Department.

No additional details about the arrest were immediately available.

The teen knew Morgan and apparently went with him voluntarily, Turlock Police said in a news release. She is safe and will be reunited with family, according to Turlock Police.

Police said they had credible information that Morgan may have been armed and had asked for the public's help locating the pair.

“The Turlock Police Department would like to thank all of the police agencies involved in this 22-hour-long investigation, which has resulted in a very joyous and successful conclusion of our investigation and the safe return of a child,” the department said.

Morgan was placed on administrative leave from his job, according to the Turlock Police Department. The Kiowa city attorney wasn’t immediately available to provide further details.
