Hughes Center office building evacuated over suspicious package

Reports of a suspicious package in the north tower of the Howard Hughes Parkway Business Center prompted an evacuation Monday night.

Authorities were alerted at 4:58 p.m. of a suspicious package at 1 Howard Hughes Parkway, Metro Police Lt. Dave Valenta.

Metro dispatched an armor unit to investigate, he said.
