Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio picked up an endorsement from state Sen. Joe Hardy today.

It is the latest in a growing number of nods for Rubio, who has amassed a collection of fans that include state Senate Majority Leader Michael Roberson, former Gov. Bob List and reality TV star Rick Harrison.

“Marco gives Republicans the best chance of winning the White House in 2016 and all Americans the best chance to see our great country meet its unmatched potential,” Hardy said.

Rubio, a U.S. senator and former Las Vegas resident, is the top establishment-backed candidate in the race but is lagging in GOP polls behind nonpoliticians Donald Trump and Ben Carson. Rubio has dozens of family members in Las Vegas and will return here for a Republican presidential debate in December.
