A man who Metro Police say fatally shot his neighbor and her 8-year-old son Friday morning before committing suicide has been identified as 47-year-old Las Vegas resident Joseph Frankulin, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Frankulin died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was found in his house on Hardtack Circle, near east Warm Springs and Paradise roads, according to the Coroner's Office and Metro Police.

Investigators believe Frankulin shot neighbor Jennifer Bagley, 39, in the head at her house before kidnapping her 8-year-old son, Lex Donoso, police said.

Bagley's daughter, who is 9 or 10 years old, alerted another neighbor, and officers arrived to find the mother's body in the entryway, police said.

A 2- or 3-year-old boy was found unharmed at the house, police said.

Officers on scene heard gunshots coming from Frankulin's house, which had boarded-up windows and was two doors away, and inside they found Donoso and Frankulin dead, police said.

The possible motives behind the incident have not been disclosed by police.
