Metro Police are investigating the death of a woman found in an apartment Friday morning near downtown Las Vegas.
Also according to police:
Officers were called about 8:20 a.m. to the 1500 block of Fremont Street, near East Carson Avenue, on reports of a possible deceased person in an apartment. Police asked that detectives investigate, as the woman appeared to have suffered at least one stab wound.
Investigators learned that the woman was a registered tenant in the apartment. No motive behind the possible stabbing is known; domestic violence might be involved.
The woman’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s office.
This is the 102nd homicide investigated by Metro Police in 2015.
