Motorcyclist likely to face charges for crash in which he slid 250 feet

A 48-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday evening after losing control of a motorcycle and sliding more than 200 feet in Henderson.

The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Horizon Ridge Parkway and Horizon Drive, according to Henderson Police spokeswoman Michelle French.

A passerby told police that the man, who was wearing a helmet, lost control of a motorcycle and slid about 200 feet before being separated from the motorcycle and sliding another 50 feet, French said.

When officers arrived, the man was breathing and conscious, she said. He was taken Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Northbound lanes on Horizon Ridge were closed as police investigated, French said.

The man is likely to face charges, as speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash, she said.
