Fire breaks out at vacant house near Nellis and Boulder Highway

Firefighters put out a blaze this morning at a vacant house near Nellis Boulevard and Boulder Highway, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire was reported about 7:55 a.m. at a single-story house in the 4200 block of Sheppard Drive. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the house, and it took firefighters about 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control, officials said.

Nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
