A homeowner using a torch to make plumbing repairs Thursday evening accidentally set his house on fire, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.
Firefighters responded about 6:30 p.m. to the one-story house in the 1300 block of Gold Avenue, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Owens Avenue, officials said.
The fire was in a wall that separated two bathrooms and spread into the attic, official said. Firefighters put out the blaze in less than 15 minutes.
The homeowner was using a torch to sweat pipes when the heat from the torch caught wood studs on fire, officials said.
