Defensive end Jamal Holloway, who had 101 tackles, including 63 solos and five sacks last fall for Camden High in New Jersey, is a late addition to the UNLV football program, according to a NJ.com report.
Holloway was verbally committed to Syracuse but never signed a letter of intent because of a change in the coaching staff, according to the report. The report also indicated he didn't earn a qualifying score on the standardized test until the spring.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Holloway fills a void for UNLV — its pass rush has long been a weakness. He's been in Las Vegas since the beginning of UNLV trainging camp in early August and will be a scholarship player, according to the report.
