Las Vegas motorcyclist, 28, who died after crashing into highway sign identified

A motorcyclist who died Friday morning after hitting a sign on the 215 Beltway near Jones Boulevard has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Oriens De Jesus, 28, of Las Vegas died of blunt-force injuries sustained in the motorcycle crash, the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

De Jesus was riding east on the 215 Beltway near the Jones exit when he went off the road and struck a highway sign, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

He was taken taken to University Medical Center, where he later died, officials said.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash, and witnesses reported De Jesus had been driving recklessly.
