No bail for Nevada man indicted in Oregon standoff

RENO — A 44-year-old man Northern Nevada man is among the latest suspects indicted on charges in connection with the armed occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge.

Corey Lequieu of Fallon was being held without bail at the Washoe County Jail on Friday after a U.S. magistrate found him to be a dangerous flight risk.

Lequieu made his initial court appearance in Reno Thursday after he and eight others were indicted on a single count of conspiracy to impede U.S. officers. If found guilty, he could face up to six years in prison.

Judge William Cobb said during Thursday's hearing that federal marshals will transport Lequieu to district court in Portland, Oregon, but he didn't say when that will happen.

Lequieu's public defender didn't immediately respond to requests for comment late Friday.
