While New Year's Eve celebrations were underway, a few people had to ring in 2016 in the company of police officers.

Eight arrests were made on the Strip, one of which involved a felony, and two arrests were made on Fremont Street, according to preliminary reports by Metro Police.

The Clark County Fire Department received about 55 calls on the Strip during the New Year's festivities, most of which were medical and alcohol-related issues, according to a tweet.

Police will provide more arrest information later.
