Henderson Police make 4 DUI arrests, issue 532 tickets during enforcement operation

Henderson Police say they arrested four drivers on DUI counts and issued more than 500 traffic tickets during a recent operation targeting impaired drivers.

Henderson officers and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers conducted saturation patrols and DUI checkpoints from Aug. 31 to Sept. 12 to look for impaired drivers, officials said.

Henderson Police officers made 448 stops and issued 532 citations, including 275 for speeding, 17 for running red lights and 101 tickets for drivers with no insurance, registration violations or driving without a valid driver’s license.

Henderson Police received $200,400 in federal funding through the Nevada Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety this year for enforcement and education efforts to reduce traffic deaths and injuries. Enforcement events will focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
