A fast-moving storm packing strong winds and hail swept across the Las Vegas Valley this afternoon.
The storm rolled in about 1 p.m. and was expected to stick around until about 3 or 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Winds as high as 45 mph and hail smaller than a half inch in diameter were recorded in some area, the weather service said.
The National Park Service reported waves of up to 4 feet on Lake Mead.
There were more than 11,000 NV Energy customers without power as of about 2 p.m., according to the company's website. The largest concentration of outages was in the area of Jones Boulevard and Washington Avenue.
