Teens arrested in slaying of woman behind vacant house

Two people are awaiting extradition to Las Vegas in the shooting death of a woman last month behind a vacant house, according to Metro Police.

Daelin Trevon Wagner was arrested Saturday in Houston and Khari Jabari James was taken into custody Monday in the Los Angeles area, Metro Officer Laura Meltzer said.

Warrants for their arrests were issued March 27 on counts of murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, according to court logs.

The suspects are 17 and 18 years old, but it wasn’t clear which one was which. The 17-year-old is being charged as an adult, Meltzer said.

Multiple people called 911 about 9:30 p.m. on March 13 to report gunshots in the area of Durango Drive and Gowan Road, police said. Officers found Alyssa Sayago, 19, dead with a gunshot wound to the head in the backyard of a house in the 8500 block of Copper Knoll Avenue, police said.

Surveillance images from homes in the area showed Sayago driving to the vacant house and meeting with two people who had been dropped off down the street before she arrived, police said. After the shooting, the pair left in a vehicle, police said.
