A gunshot fired through the wall of a Las Vegas apartment hit a 4-month-old baby in the hand this morning, according to Metro Police.

The child was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

The incident happened about 11 a.m. today at an apartment in the 300 block of Harmon Avenue, near Koval Lane, police said.

Preliminary investigation suggests a gun was fired in a neighboring apartment and that the projectile went through a wall and hit the baby, police said. No additional details were immediately available.
