Man hospitalized after morning shooting in northeast Las Vegas

A man was taken to University Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries this morning after being shot multiple times by another man at a northeast valley apartment in a dispute over a woman, according to Metro Police.

The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of Nellis Boulevard, near Las Vegas Boulevard, police said.

Police said a man that was sleeping in the apartment woke up to find the ex-boyfriend in the apartment and a confrontation followed. He shot the man three times and fled the scene, according to police.

Officers arrived to find the woman attempting to administer aid to the victim, police said. Two of the shots were grazing wounds and the other went through the victim’s shoulder, police said.

No arrests have been made and the shooter is still outstanding, police said.
