Las Vegas Sun sports editors Ray Brewer and Case Keefer welcome back football season by going through all the leagues, and also touch on major storylines. They also disagree on picks for numerous week 1 games.

The Faith Lutheran High football team may have let a victory get away tonight in Colorado.

The Crusaders had a seven-point halftime lead at perennial Colorado power Valor Christian but were held scoreless in the second half of a 30-21 defeat.

If it weren’t for a fumble on the 1-yard line when the Crusaders were going in for a touchdown or a safety when the ball was snapped over the head of the punter, the outcome may have been different.

“We confirmed what we knew and what we were expecting of them. They are more than capable of competing with a team of that caliber,” Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox said.

Sagan Gronauer completed 35-of-53 passes for 390 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Elijah Kothe caught both scores and finished with 11 receptions for 112 yards.

John Thomson had an interception return for a touchdown of about 10 yards for Faith Lutheran. Saundre Spiller had 42 yards rushing and 73 receiving.
