Police investigating fatal shooting of man thought to have overdosed

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found shot to death Thursday morning near Martin Luther King and Lake Mead boulevards, according to Metro Police.

It was initially believed that the man had possibly overdosed, but the Clark County coroner's office Friday determined he died from at least one gunshot wound, police said.

Officers were called about 7 a.m. to Lexington Street and Larry Avenue where they found the shooting victim unconscious, police said. The case has since been turned over to homicide detectives.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro at 702-828-3521 or via email at [email protected]. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or online at crimestoppersofnv.com.
