Two local high school football players made verbal commitments today.

Arbor View quarterback Hayden Bollinger verbally committed to Colorado Mesa University, he announced on Twitter.

Bollinger threw for 1,310 yards, 22 touchdowns and only one interception while running for another six touchdowns during his senior year at Arbor View.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound quarterback led Arbor View to back-to-back 10-2 seasons as a junior and senior.

Bollinger also had an offer from Western New Mexico but chose Colorado Mesa after taking his official visit.

Also announced on Twitter today, Bishop Gorman’s Austin Arnold verbally committed to UNR.

Arnold caught 18 passes for 299 yards and eight touchdowns this season for the Gaels. He also carried the ball 24 times for 203 yards and three scores on the ground.

UNR offered a scholarship to the 5-foot-11, 190-pound receiver on Jan 1.

Signing day is Feb. 1. Until then, verbal commitments are nonbinding and players can still be recruited by other schools.
