Motorcycle driver faces DUI charge in crash that killed passenger

Investigators believe a man critically injured in a south valley motorcycle crash that killed his passenger Sunday night was impaired, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Seth Bennet, 39, of Las Vegas, has been charged with one count of felony DUI, NHP said today.

Troopers and medical crews were dispatched about 9 p.m. to the fly-over ramp on Interstate 15 and state Blue Diamond Road, NHP said. Kristy Singer, a 31-year-old Las Vegan, who was the passenger of the 2010 red and black Harley Davidson, died at the scene. Bennet was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Investigators determined the motorcycle was heading east when it entered a shoulder and struck a concrete wall for unknown reasons, NHP said. Bennet and Singer were thrown from the bike.
